One of the features of our school is an Annual Production involving students in a musical play. Performances attract large audiences who marvel at the talents of our children in these lavish, high quality shows.
We enjoy a very good reputation for producing many fine musicians. All children benefit from weekly lessons with a music specialist teacher. Music tutors are available with strings (Years 3-6), percussion / drums (Years 4-6) and a variety of other instruments (Years 4-6). Our senior and junior concert bands and string group perform at various times throughout the year within our school, in the local community and even at Federation Square in Melbourne.
Annual Production One of the features of our school is an Annual Production involving all students from Years 3-6, in a musical play, performed on stage at a venue in Maffra or Sale. Daytime matinees and evening performances attract large audiences who marvel at the talents of our children in these lavish, high quality shows.
Visual arts The Visual Arts program engages all students in experiences that will allow them to learn about themselves and the world around them. The students are given opportunities to experiment with ideas, concepts and feelings and are encouraged to think, imagine, create and appreciate. Students receive up to ninety minutes each week in a magnificent art room located in the original heritage building. Classes in drawing, painting, threads and textiles, construction, ceramics and collage are undertaken during the year.
Global studies. Global Studies is an area that is integrated into the Visual Arts program and is delivered to students from Years 3 to 6. This program, combined with the visual arts program, is designed to broaden students' view of the world through making and appreciating art forms and investigating different cultures. Students will become more globally knowledgeable and discover and learn geographical facts as well as learn some basic language such as greetings and numbers.
