About Us
Maffra Primary is focused on delivering a comprehensive learning program to our students and to prepare them to be active and positive citizens.
Maffra Primary School is located in the township of Maffra within the Macalister Irrigation District, renowned for its dairy industry. The original building was erected in 1867 and together with the grounds area, in particular the Peppercorn trees, are of historical significance. Although most of the students live in the town, population 4000, some are drawn from the farms and smaller settlements in the area.
The school enjoys a good working relationship with Maffra Secondary College, kindergartens and the other schools in the district. Transition programs from kinder to prep and from primary to secondary are particularly successful.

Special Facilities
New classrooms in the school mean new features including flexible learning spaces, outdoor learning areas, the most up-to-date technology with networked computers and interactive whiteboards. Other special new facilities include a gymnasium and purpose-built art and music spaces.
Support Services
The school receives tremendous support from services including: psychologists, speech pathologists, special education consultant, visiting teacher for the hearing impaired, literacy specialist, Ultranet coaches.
Parent Involvement
Parents are very welcome at our school, in fact, we - meaning the children, School Council and staff wish all parents to take an active part in the school because you are a vital part of it. It is your school too. Your input will help to make the school even better.
The School Council of the Maffra Primary School comprises representatives of parents, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) employees and co-opted members. School Council elections are held at the start of each school year.
